The gap
Same question. A different answer.
A lab result comes back with a high creatinine. Here is what an AI says without your data, and with one small slice of it that you approved.
“My creatinine came back high. Should I be worried about my kidneys?”
Without your data
A high creatinine can be a sign of reduced kidney function. Dehydration, certain medications and kidney disease are common causes. Please see your doctor for follow-up testing, which may include an eGFR and a urinalysis.
Reasonable, and the same answer everyone gets.
With one approved slice
Your reading may be overstated. You take creatine (5 g a day), which raises serum creatinine without changing how well your kidneys work. Ask for cystatin C alongside creatinine so the result isn’t misread, and tell your doctor about the supplement.
Both answers are illustrative, written for this demo. They are not a measurement. Our time-and-accuracy claims stay assumptions until a pilot measures them.
Your vault
The data stays on your machine.
The assistant never gets the file. It asks for a named slice, you see exactly what would be shared, and you approve it. Try it, including the part where the assistant tries to approve itself.
- Encrypted file ~/.groundstate/vault/profile.json.gpg
- Cipher AES-256, key held in the system keychain
- Release by scope, never the whole profile

Each entry stores the hash of the one before it, computed live in this page. Edit an old entry and the chain breaks. A tampered newest entry would not be caught on its own; a hardware key signing the latest hash closes that gap.

Astrology mode, with the receipts.
Some people take astrology seriously, so we don’t hide it. We label it, and we test it. Pick a birth date and see how the tradition’s description of that sign fits Alex’s measured personality.
Non-scientific Not used by any rule. Never changes a recommendation. Your date stays in this browser.
The fair test: the same data against all 12 signs
Why this isn’t evidence
A meta-analysis of more than 40 controlled studies found sign and chart predictions of personality cluster around zero, and a double-blind test published in Nature found astrologers at chance. What remains is better explained by cognitive and social mechanisms.
The sign descriptions are our own simplified encoding of popular ones, three claims per sign. Astrologers don’t agree on a standard. Sun sign only; no Moon or Ascendant.
The one thing it’s allowed to do: wording
Same recommendation, two phrasings. The finding never changes; only the sentence does.
What this is today
A working prototype, labelled honestly.
Real today
- An encrypted local vault with scoped, approved release and a tamper-evident audit log.
- A local check that runs the rules on your machine and prints only flags.
- Every finding carries an evidence tier and a source you can open.
- A confounder gate: drugs and supplements that change how a lab value should be read.
Approximate
- The matrix is rebuilt from our rule tables. Its thresholds are assumptions.
- Many inputs are still ungraded; we don’t invent a tier for them.
- MBTI, Enneagram and self-report rules stay Unestablished by design.
- Intake doesn’t collect smoking, shift work, caregiving or social connection yet.
Not yet
- No pilot, so no measured outcomes.
- Hardware custody (Hito) is a plan; today’s key lives in the system keychain.
- EU health-data and medical-device review hasn’t been done.
- None of this is medical advice or a diagnosis.
Collect first. Prompt second. Don’t go unprompted.
